Summer Scheme

Applications for the 2025 Summer Scheme are now open!
Applications close on 9 February.

The title ‘lawyer’ encompasses a number of different professions.  Although they may all work on cases together, barristers, solicitors/legal executives all perform different roles. Each branch of the profession has its own individual route to qualification and each may be attractive to different people for different reasons.

The LEDLET Summer Scheme gives students the opportunity to see first-hand what the legal profession is like from shadowing solicitors, barristers and a judge.

We appreciate that for a profession with different career paths, each with its own twists and turns, it is often difficult for anyone to decide which road to take, let alone for those with no prior connections with the law. It is for that reason that we operate the LEDLET Summer Scheme.

The Summer Scheme is the only opportunity of its kind being offered to students in Wales. Applications for up to ten spaces both in London and Cardiff on the Summer Scheme 2025. You must be under 18 years old and at the end of year 12 by the date of the scheme. There is a single application for the scheme, and a preference may be given as to whether you would like to attend the scheme in London or Cardiff.

The date for the scheme is usually takes place in the last few weeks of July, a date for the 2025 summer scheme has not yet been fixed.  If you have any further questions, please get in touch at ledletsecretary@outlook.com.
